Come along and discover a little piece of Alvechurch Baptist Church history as part of this year’s Village Scarecrow Festival!

Our very own ABC scarecrow tells the remarkable story of a 17th-century Alvechurch Baptist who was put in the pillory after arguing with the rector over infant baptism and yes, it really happened!

During weekdays, the church will be open from 10.00am–2.00pm, offering a fascinating exhibition featuring more than 300 photographs celebrating the life of Alvechurch Baptist Church, past and present.

​

Alongside the photographs, you’ll find a selection of intriguing archive material, bringing the story of our church and its people to life.

​

On the Saturday, the church will stay open until 4.00pm, with even more to enjoy:

• Have a go at sponge throwing at Joey in the pillory!

• Take part in our children’s colouring competition.

• Explore our fascinating collection of photographs and archive material.

• And, of course, come and meet our rather unfortunate 17th-century Baptist scarecrow!​
