Let us commence this month by offering prayers for all that will take place in the next few weeks, and all that can be achieved; also, those concerns we have, or any confusion we feel over what to do from now on.
Prayer Meetings and Times
Lord, the time we spend with you is so precious; it gives us the chance to hear your voice, and it is the time when you refresh and nourish us. Thank you! Help us to find time, in amongst the busyness of life, just for you.
Current Affairs
Let us spend some time quietly praying for the latest news events and situations in our world, and offer it to God.
St Mary’s Catholic Church
Loving Lord, we pray today for our Catholic friends; for the way in which they faithfully follow you, and do all they can to honour you. As we worship with them this month, help us to see your hand at work in their lives, and know how we can offer support and the hand of friendship to them.
St Valentine’s Day
Let us offer, this day, prayers about love to God: thanking God for the love we receive, the love we can give, the love we know makes such a difference to the world. And let’s pray for those who don’t know love - that opportunities may come their way enabling them to feel valued/loved.
Lent
As we arrive at this time of year again, Lord, let us set aside the time to pray and to listen to you. May Lent be a time of learning, engaging with you, and spending time with our ecumenical friends. Lord, we offer you this time of Lent, and with it ourselves.
Service
Think about all you are involved with within the life of ABC, and then think about others you can think of who serve God in one way or another at church. Pray for them, and for yourself, giving thanks for ways we can serve God.
Leap Year
Let us offer thanks for an extra day in the year: an extra day to do what we need to do, do what we want to do, and do whatever we are able to do for ourselves and others.
Lent Course
Loving Lord, as the groups within Churches Together meet to discuss and learn from Hillary Brand’s latest Lent Study, may it be a time of blessing to all who engage with it. May it help us to know you more, and to find fresh ways for living out our faith here in this locality.
