During this time of Lent, Lord, help us to focus more fully on you, and know your presence in our lives. May these 40 days be a time of glory and honour to you.
Churches Together
We thank God for the unity of our churches here in Alvechurch and Rowney Green; the opportunities we have to worship together, to socialise, and to learn from each other.
Families and Friends
Thank you, Lord, for all those people in our lives who make them a bit more special, a lot happier and more contented. May we be to others as special as they are to us.
Mothers
Lord, on this special day - ‘Mothering Sunday’, we pray for Mums: all they do and all they are. Thank you, Lord!
Spring
With Spring nearly upon us now, let us pray for new growth and new life – for nature in all its glory; for new life colours and beauty that will spring up all around us in these coming weeks.
Schools and Nurseries
Lord, we pray for all children and young people of Alvechurch; for facilities that will help them to meet safely and have fun. We pray for the schools and nurseries of this village that provide care, with support for families. We pray for all who work in these places, giving thanks for their commitment to the education and growth of children.
Palm Sunday
On this day, Lord, we pray for the time we remember when you travelled into Jerusalem on a donkey; how the crowds praised you, waving branches and calling out ‘Hallelujah!’, and how there was much joy on the road.
Holy Week
As we travel through this special week, let us remember the events that took place, as Jesus travelled towards that cross. May we also think about what crosses we can bear for Jesus, and how we can better follow him.
